A recent decision by Florida’s governor to reverse his postiion and accept the Medicaid expansion is a refreshing change for the polemic posturing with which we have become so jaundiced.

And this highlights two issues:
1. That most if not all of the governors who are on record as opposed to accepting the Medicaid expansion will, ultimately capitulate, and;
2. How compelled we are to be, or at least appear to be “consistent” over time with what we have stated publically in the past.
Politicians operate on a hyper-public stage and the glare of the spotlight forces many of them to hold onto posittions welll beyond their usefulness.
