John Novack

John Novack believes deeply that strong communities within healthcare are crucial for improving the entire system. The sharing of stories is a glue that helps bind these communities together. John is an expert in making connections for good.

A veteran healthcare journalist, John has worked in communications, marketing and community building for 20+ years, collaborating with organizations in acute care, post-acute care, life sciences, and health technology.

John’s experience includes:

Content Strategy and Creation: White papers, press releases, blog posts, social media marketing, e-newsletters, white papers, ebooks, webinars, videos.

Media relations: Identifying media outlets of interest and impact, and helping place stories.

Social Media Assessment and Content Creation: For B2B and B2C needs. Focus on Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, Facebook.

Online Community Building: Assess opportunities for creating communities of interest, whether role-specific, or therapeutic area-specific.

For more than a decade, John oversaw patient engagement and communications for the two-million-member social network Inspire. A former journalist, he was group publisher at HCPro, a health care regulatory publishing and training company. John served on the Association of Health Care Journalists’ board of directors and was an AHCJ officer.

John is a volunteer committee member of the Society for Participatory Medicine and the nonprofit advocacy organizations SCAD Alliance, and AnCan, and he is an advisor to The Journal of Health Design. He has a bachelor’s degree in psychology and a master’s degree in journalism.
