Keith Pollard On The IMTJ Medical Travel Summit 2015 February 12, 2015

Marketing, research and business development consultant in healthcare, human services and senior living.

Keith Pollard Discusses IMTJ Medical Travel Summit 2015Keith Pollard, the Managing Director of Intuition Communication, joined the Medical Travel Show to discuss the 2015 International Medical Travel Journal’s (IMTJ) Medical Travel Summit, which was held on April 15-16, 2015 at the Royal Garden Hotel in London. The Summit also included the 2015 IMTJ Awards.

Intuition Communication publishes IMTJ, one of the most comprehensive aggregators of information in the global health & wellness, dental, and medical travel sector.

The Medical Travel Summit 2015 was shaped around questions that even pioneers of the industry, like Keith, struggle to answer. “How do we define medical tourism? We have major global bodies like the World Travel Organization (UNWTO) and the Organization for Economic Corporation and Development (OECD) providing different definitions. No wonder the sector lacks clarity!”

Keith ensured the Medical Travel Summit would be an environment for experts in the medical tourism sector to answer questions, and share knowledge and ideas. “Everyone in the medical tourism business is trying to attract consumers, and the businesses are sitting around talking to each other! It’s positively neurotic,” says Keith.

This interview also includes Keith’s observations about what conference attendees get right and wrong about international conferences and summits. It is a must listen-to for anyone on the business side of the international medical travel sector.

Keith was also a speaker at the The Future of Private Healthcare Summit 2015, “a timely and innovative summit designed to examine how the Competition Commission recommendations together with market, demographic and behavioral changes, financial pressures and the impact of new technologies will shape the future of private healthcare.” To understand more about the cross-border healthcare policies, please visit the European Commission Public Health website.
